salam 'alaik....:)
i would like to share about a-not-so-called-disease: DYSLEXIA~
it is not a disease but a life-long condition of a person. why i said so, because it can't be cure. there is no cure for dyslexia....are you sure?
What is dyslexia?
Well, Dyslexia is a learning problem some kids have. Dyslexia makes kids tough to read and spell. The problem is inside the brain, but it doesn't mean the person is stupid@dumb. Plenty of smart and talented people struggle with dyslexia.
According to the Education Ministry, about 314,000 school-going children in Malaysia have dyslexia. In fact, more children may be dyslexic than asthmatic. Dyslexia Association of Malaysia (DAM) president Sariah Amirin said that 80% of children with dyslexia cannot read well.
Cause of Dyslexia
Dyslexia is an inherited condition. Researchers have determined that a gene on the short arm of chromosome #6 is responsible for dyslexia. That gene is dominant, making dyslexia highly heritable. It definitely runs in families.
Dyslexia results from a neurological difference; that is, a brain difference. People with dyslexia have a larger right-hemisphere in their brains than those of normal readers. That may be one reason people with dyslexia often have significant strengths in areas controlled by the right-side of the brain, such as artistic, athletic, and mechanical gifts; 3-D visualization ability; musical talent; creative problem solving skills; and intuitive people skills.
In addition to unique brain architecture, people with dyslexia have unusual "wiring". Neurons are found in unusual places in the brain, and are not as neatly ordered as in non-dyslexic brains.

many children commonly face problems with letter reversal before the age of seven. However, if the reversal persists, reading problems continue.

Hope for dyslexics
well, as i said earlier, Dyslexia is a medical condition, not a disease. With proper help, dyslexics can learn to read and write well.

conclusion
as a conclusion, after i read and find out about dyslexia, i can say that, some of us may think dyslexia is "learning dissablities". yes. the national institutes of health also definated the same definition. somehow, i don't think that i can handle children with dyslexia. they are so stubborn! well, at the end, Allah leads me to meet one of them.(a very close person to me) Alhamdulillah. Thank you Allah! :)
its not as bad as i think before. they are actually very smart than us. huhu. its A GIFT!
p/s: have you watch a hindi movie, "Taree Zameen Par"? This is a story about a kid with dyslexia. [i cried a lot! ='(]
